Kyle Napp has been elected by the circuit judges of the Third Judicial Circuit to fill the vacancy of retiring Associate Judge Lewis Mallott.
Napp is one of Madison County State's Attorney Bill Mudge's top criminal prosecutors. She routinely prosecutes high-profile cases.
Mallott's term officially ends on July 31, but his last day on the job was Friday, June 29.
