Julie Lewis of St. Clair County is suing the owners of an East Carondelet home for falling on a set of steps nearly two years ago.

According to the suit filed Sept. 26 in St. Clair County Circuit Court, Lewis sustained permanent injuries to her shoulders, hips and upper and lower extremities at 2117 State St. on Oct. 22, 2004.

Represented by William F. Kopis of Belleville, Lewis is seeking in excess of $50,000 from William Reeg, Sr., Barbara Reeg, William Reeg, Jr. and Andrea Reeg.

Lewis claims the Reegs failed to maintain the steps and allowed water and/or foreign substances to accumulate on the steps when the defendants knew or should have known that it posed a danger to others.
