A man who tripped on his friend's driveway filed a personal injury lawsuit against her in St. Clair County Circuit Court July 17.

George Allen claims he was leaving Pearl Washington's home at 6788 Mary Ave. in East St. Louis on Dec. 27, 2004, when he tripped on uneven concrete sticking up out of the ground.

Allen claims he broke his ankle because Washington allowed her driveway to remain unsafe for walking.

Seeking damages in excess of $50,000, Allen claims he suffered pain and suffering, medical expenses, lost wages and the loss of a normal life.

He is represented by Benjamin Goldenhersh of Belleville.
