Voters in eighteen states across America – people of all races, creeds, religions and political affiliations – have spoken clearly by amending their state constitutions with overwhelming majorities (an average of just over 70 percent) to defend marriage from those who seek to redefine it.

Citizens of Illinois would also like to have the opportunity to vote on an amendment to their state constitution which will define marriage clearly and protect it from those who are willing to impose a vast, untested, social experiment upon our culture and children.

Those who truly believe in our democratic way of life must get involved. If this issue isn’t decided by Illinois voters, it will be decided for us by unelected, activist judges as evidenced in Massachusetts.

We invite you to take part in the Protect Marriage Illinois petition drive to put a referendum on the 2006 ballot to call on the General Assembly to establish marriage as it is intended by nature, tradition and common sense – between one man and one woman.
