Incorrect mopping means lawsuit against Dollar General

Dollar General was named in a St. Clair County lawsuit Aug. 4 by a woman who fell on a freshly mopped floor. She claims employees were not properly trained on the correct way to mop.

Seeking $50,000 for extensive injuries to her head, body and limbs, Minta Fuchs claims the Southview Plaza store in O'Fallon allowed the floor to remain wet after it was mopped.

She also alleges Dollar General was negligent for not drying the floor or installing proper signage about the "wet and dangerous condition."

The incident, which took place April 27, has caused Fuchs to suffer lost wages and an impairment of future earnings, according to the complaint.

Fuchs is represented by John H. Hustava of Collinsville.
