Dad sues for rain-slick steps at festval

In a suit filed June 24 in Madison County Circuit Court, a father is holding a concession stand operator responsible for rain-slick steps which caused his son to slip and fall.

Todd Rehg claims his son, Tyler, injured his left femur after slipping on wet steps at the Space Crazy concession stand during St. Jacob's Homecoming festival July 18, 2003. He is seeking damages in excess of $50,000.

American Banner is blamed for "keeping the stand open when they should have known the rainstorm made the attraction unsafe for public use," the suit claims.

Rehg claims the concession stand operator failed to warn patrons of the slippery condition and failed to keep its steps dry.

Rehg is represented by Glenn Bradford of Edwardsville. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge George Moran, Jr.
