Bender joins Sandberg Phoenix in O'Fallon office

Sandberg Phoenix has announced that attorney Bentley Bender has joined the firm's O'Fallon office in its growing Business Practice Group.

“We’re thrilled to have Bentley joining our team,” Sandberg Phoenix O’Fallon managing partner Lorraine Cavataio said. “His skills in estate planning and business law are a great fit for our clients and he shares our commitment to providing extraordinary client service.”

Bender specializes in wealth and estate planning, and has experience in taxation, Medicaid eligibility, elder law, powers of attorneys and trusts, including special needs, supplemental needs, marital trusts and spendthrift trusts. He also has a strong background in commercial transactions, including asset purchase agreements, proofs of claim, collections, foreclosure, evictions and bankruptcy proceedings. Bender regularly works with individuals, banks, hospitals and trustees. He is also engaged by small- to medium-sized businesses to assist with matters including bylaw, shareholder agreement, and contract drafting, corporate formation and governance, establishing holding companies and formation of not-for-profits.

He received his juris doctorate from Washington University School of Law, where he received the Phillip Gallop Award, the CALI Award for Academic Excellence and received the Class of 1960 Scholarship and Dean’s List placement. He also served as a member of the Honor Council Screening Panel. After earning his law degree, Bender received his masters of law in taxation, also from Washington University School of Law.
