Beelman Truck and its driver are being sued over an accident that occurred more than two years ago in Belleville.
Barry Cheeks filed suit against the trucking company and Charles Seay in St. Clair County Circuit Court on Feb. 13.
Cheeks claims that on Feb. 15, 2013, he was westbound on St. Clair Avenue just before its intersection with First Street and was preparing to make a left turn. He claims that Seay also was westbound, but failed to safely bring his vehicle to a stop.
As a result of Seay's alleged negligence, Cheeks claims he incurred medical expenses and suffered physcial injuries, pain and suffering, loss of enjoyment of life, and lost wages.
Cheeks seeks in excess of $50,000 in damages.
