Reeg to head Goldberg Segalla office opening in St. Louis

Attorney Kurtis B. Reeg, a 35-year veteran of the St. Louis legal community and a nationally recognized insurance coverage and toxic tort lawyer, has been chosen to launch the new St. Louis office of 200-lawyer Goldberg Segalla, one of the fastest-growing law firms in the U.S.

Reeg has been the president and managing partner of Reeg Lawyers, LLC, with offices in St. Louis and northeast Missouri and Wichita, Kan., for the past 11 years.

The St. Louis office — Goldberg Segalla’s 13th — will open March 1 with a team of five lawyers led by Reeg. He will be joined by partner Paul L. Knobbe and associates David M. Frohlichstein, Lynn A. Lehnert and Matthew A. Temper.

“All of us are thrilled to join Goldberg Segalla and to bring its extensive resources to the service we provide our clients,” Reeg said in a press release. “With the firm’s diverse range of practices, its reach across the United States and into the United Kingdom, and the respect and accolades it has earned globally, we feel this will open up significant doors of opportunity for our clients. On top of that, Goldberg Segalla’s teamwork-driven philosophy and emphasis on a positive culture match the way we have always worked together. We would not have decided to join just any firm — for us, Goldberg Segalla was the right fit.”

In 2014, the firm was named "Law Firm of the Year" by the global insurance and reinsurance publication Reactions at its London Market Awards, as well as USA Insurance Law Firm of the Year by the international Lawyer Monthly. It has been a finalist for Intelligent Insurer’s Global Law Firm of the Year award in each of the past two years at the Monte Carlo Rendezvous de Septembre.

Goldberg Segalla employs more than 200 lawyers, with 12 offices in the United States - spanning New York, Illinois, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut - and in Europe (in London, where the firm operates as Goldberg Segalla Global LLP). It counsels the interests of regional, national, and international clients, including a number of Fortune 100 companies, in a wide range of industries. Goldberg Segalla handles all forms of dispute resolution and provides proactive legal and regulatory counsel that helps clients minimize and manage risk in a broad array of areas.

Founded in 2001, the firm has grown to be ranked on the National Law Journal’s NLJ 350 list of the largest law firms in the United States. Goldberg Segalla has been recognized by its clients and peers — as well as by the National Law Journal, Law360, Reactions, LexisNexis, the Minority Corporate Counsel Association, and others.
