Weight loss supplement caused liver damage, suit claims

A couple is suing a dietary supplement retailer and pharmaceutical company for damages when the husband fell sick after using a fat shredder.

Charles Matthew “Matt” Stuttle and Amy Stuttle filed the claim in Madison County Circuit Court on Nov. 20.

According to the suit, Matt Stuttle bought Windsol Xtreme from Complete Supplements in Maryville in April. After using the supplement, which is designed by Helcia Pharm, Stuttle became severely ill and sustained liver damage.

The Stuttles are seeking damages in excess of $50,000, plus court fees.

They are represented by Troy E. Walton and Stephen J. Telken of Schoen, Walton, Telken & Foster, LLC.
