Bicyclist sues after being hit by car in Mascoutah

A St. Clair County man says he was hurt when he was hit by a car while riding his bike in Mascoutah.

Daniel Moseley filed a lawsuit against Julia Yoder Sept. 29 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.

According to the petition, Moseley was riding his bicycle north on North Jefferson Street in October 2012. As he neared the intersection of Grand Prairie View, Moseley claims he was hit from behind by a Pontiac Grand Am being driven by Yoder. Moseley says he was knocked off the road and thrown to the ground.

Moseley accuses Yoder of negligence and asks for more than $50,000 in damages for medical bills, lost wages and court fees. He is represented by attorney George R. Ripplinger of Belleville.
