Woman sues fish stand, American Legion post over uneven steps

A woman is suing a fish stand, local post of the American Legion and others, claiming  uneven steps caused her to fall and sustain injuries.

Donna Kohlberg filed a lawsuit June 4 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Charles Dixon, Lisa Dixon, LC’s Fish Stand and American Legion Post 937.

In her complaint, Kohlberg alleges she was patronizing LC’s Fish Stand on July 29, and was entering the front door of the premises when she fell and sustained injuries.

As a result of her fall, the suit states Kohlberg suffered significant injuries and damages.

She blames the defendants for causing her injuries, saying they failed to provide a safe entrance and exit, provide an entrance door that opened in an appropriate manner and allowed the steps to remain in a condition that the riser heights were uneven.

Kohlberg seeks a judgment of more than $150,000 and is being represented by Grey Chatham Jr. of Chatham & Barjcevic in Swansea.

St. Clair County Circuit Court case number 14-L-473.
