A Madison County woman is suing over claims she was injured on the premises of an Alton grocery store.
Valerie Shelby filed a lawsuit May 6 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Mally Inc., doing business as Cowboy Supermarket, and Mohammed Almuttan, citing premises liability.
According to the complaint, Shelby was at the defendants' Cowboy Supermarket on May 7, 2012, when she slipped on a wet floor and sustained injuries. The defendants are accused of negligence in the maintenance of the premises.
Shelby is seeking damages in excess of $50,000. She is being represented in the case by attorney Inez J. Ross of St. Louis.
