Letter to South Roxana Mayor Beasley; Board and Chief

By The Madison County Record | Apr 16, 2014

To the Editor:

South Roxana Mayor Beasley, Board of Trustees and Police Chief Dennis Carpenter, I was happy to hear that you recently received a sheriff's security van, in excellent condition, to use for your public works department. I was also very pleased to hear that you chose to donate the previous sheriff's car to the Wanda Cemetery to be used for hauling wood, etc.

Contributing to maintaining and improving Wanda Cemetery is thoughtful, considerate and important to the community and families whose loved ones are laid to rest there. Maintaining your cemetery is the most respectful way of honoring those who have lived their lives and raised their families in your community and surrounding areas.

Please know how proud I am to know and work with all of you, your fire department and your cemetery for the good of South Roxana.

Helen M. Hawkins

Madison Count Board Member, District 16
