Jack Cooper Transport, Auto Handling

A man is suing a transport company after being injured using one of its trucks.

Craig Yow filed a lawsuit July 31 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Jack Cooper Transport Co. and Auto Handling Corp., citing fraud.

The lawsuit states Yow was employed with JCT on Feb. 14, 2003, when he was using a company trailer for work. He was injured when the rear loading skid jammed, the complaint said.

The lawsuit states the defendants made statements during prior litigation that the trailer had been modified, but evidence showed it was not, the new lawsuit states. Yow was not allowed to return to work after his medical treatment had ended, the complaint states.

Yow is seeking in excess of $50,000 in damages. He is represented by Roy Dripps of Armbruster, Dripps, Winterscheidt & Blotevogel in Alton.
