A lender claims a St. Clair County woman hasn't made payments on her student loan debt in over two years.

Acapita Education Finance Corp., formerly known as Global Educational Finance Corp., as assignee of Richland State Bank, filed a lawsuit on May 29 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Jamie Lynn Aaron, alleging loan default.

The suit states that although demand for payment on a promissory note has been made, Aaron hasn't made a payment since May 22, 2013. The defendant is allegedly indebted to Richland State Bank and owes a balance of $20,010.41.

Acapita Education Finance Corp. seeks the money it believes it is owed plus interest, attorney fees and court costs.

The plaintiff is represented by attorneys Gary Underwood and Jeanine Armstrong of Underwood Law Firm in St. Louis.
