Passenger alleges injuries from rear-end collision

Car accident 40

BELLEVILLE — A passenger is suing a motorist for allegedly rear-ending the vehicle she was riding in.

Tenesha Williams filed a complaint on April 28 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Kimberly Hemphill, alleging the defendant failed to exercise reasonable care while operating her vehicle.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 4, 2016, the vehicle she was riding in was rear-ended by the defendant's vehicle while stopped at a red-light at the intersection of Thouvenot Lane and Hartman Lane.

Williams claims she suffered physical injuries and incurred medical bills as a result of the accident.

The plaintiff alleges Hemphill failed to keep a proper lookout, drove at an excessive rate of speed and failed to follow traffic signs.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment in an amount greater than the $50,000 jurisdictional minimum of the court, and for any further just and proper relief.

She is represented by Gary K. Burger of Burger Law LLC in St. Louis.
