Woman alleges motorist caused collision on IL 140

Car accident 29

EDWARDSVILLE — A woman claims she and her child were injured in a collision on IL 140.

Edith Schehl and T.T., a minor by her mother Schehl, filed a complaint on Jan. 18 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Sean McClearey, alleging he failed to exercise reasonable care in the operation of his vehicle.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on May 23, 2015, Edith Schehl was operating a motor vehicle with T.T. riding as a passenger. They were traveling westbound in IL 140 when McClearey allegedly struck their vehicle.

As a result of the collision, the plaintiffs allege they sustained severe injuries resulting in medical expenses, physical and mental pain and suffering.

The plaintiffs allege McClearey failed to yield right of way, failed to maintain careful lookout and failed to stop at an intersection.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against the defendant in a sum exceeding $50,000, plus costs of this suit.

They are represented by Steven D. Davis of Torhoerman Law LLC in Edwardsville.
