Woman alleges motorist caused collision while talking on phone

BELLEVILLE — A woman is suing a motorist for allegedly causing a collision by operating his vehicle while talking on his cellphone.

Tricia Held filed a complaint on Sept. 29 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Neil Lucash, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Sept. 12, 2015, she was operating her Kia and was stopped for a red light when the defendant suddenly collided with the rear of her vehicle. She claims she sustained injuries and damages that resulted in medical expenses and lost earnings.

Held alleges Lucash failed to maintain control of his vehicle and failed to keep proper lookout.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensation in the sum of $75,000, plus costs of this suit. She is represented by Walter F. Floyd of The Floyd Law Firm PC in St. Louis.
