Driver's negligence alleged to have caused Quincy crash

Car accident 32

EDWARDSVILLE – Two women have filed suit against another motorist after an accident in Quincy.

Mary Akers and Julie Frohn filed a complaint on May 11 in Madison County Circuit Court against Chandler Drahn alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on May 12, 2014, they were in a 2012 Ford Focus traveling eastbound on Harrison Street in Quincy when they were rear-ended by the defendant's vehicle. The collision caused the plaintiffs serious external and internal injuries, which may be permanent, the suit states. The plaintiffs hold Drahn responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to properly observe other vehicles to give warning or signal to avoid the accident, drove too fast for the road conditions, and failed to slow down and drive with adequate brakes.

The plaintiffs each seek an equitable sum of more than $50,000 and the costs of this action. They are represented by Michael P. Glisson of Williamson, Webster, Falb & Glisson in Alton.
