Former school teacher sues ex-husband's new wife for defamation

A former school teacher alleges her ex-husband's new wife defamed her and tried to get her fired from her job as a school teacher.

Kimberly Wison filed suit on Oct. 22 against Sharonda Wilson in the Madison County Circuit Court, alleging defamation.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges Sharonda Wilson, the new wife of Kimberly Wilson's ex-husband, filed false police reports and defamed her. She alleges the defendant attempted to get her fired from her position as a school teacher by falsely claiming to school officials that the plaintiff was harassing one of her students.

Kimberly Wilson is seeking $50,000, plus costs of litigation.

The plaintiff is represented by Erin Phillips of Unsell, Schattnik & Phillips, SC., of Wood River.
