A St. Clair County woman accuses another driver of negligence following a vehicle collision in Belleville.
Vivian Thompson filed a complaint on Aug. 6 in Madison County Circuit Court against Paul Brigman, alleging negligence.
The complaint alleges that on Aug. 23, 2013, Brigman, driving a 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt, ran a red light at the intersection of North Belt West and Buckingham, colliding with Thompson's 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe as she was making a left turn at the intersection.
According to the complaint, Thompson suffered internal and external bodily injuries, including injuries to her shoulder resulting in surgery, as well as great pain and mental anguish, disability and loss of normal life.
She also claims she incurred medical expenses and property damage, the complaint states.
Thompson seeks damages in excess of $50,000, plus costs of the suit.
