A man has filed suit against the driver who he claims rear-ended his vehicle, causing him to endure temporary and permanent injuries.
Kenneth Garr claims he was driving his 2009 Ford F150 west at the intersection of Front Street and Broadway in East St. Louis on Dec. 28, 2011, at about 4:02 a.m. when he slowed down to make a left-hand turn. Suddenly, defendant Scott Hagen, who was driving his 2002 Toyota Camry in the same direction, rear-ended Garr’s vehicle, according to the complaint filed Nov. 12 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.
Because of the collision, Garr incurred medical costs and was prevented from attending to his usual duties, the suit states.
Garr blames Hagen for causing the collision, saying he negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, drove too fast, failed to exercise proper control, failed to brake and failed to yield the right-of-way.
In his complaint, Garr is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.
