A Wood River man is suing the driver of a car that allegedly crashed into a utility vehicle and then left the scene.
Mark W. Allen filed a lawsuit against Lauren E. Schmieg Oct. 24 in Madison County Circuit Court.
Allen says he was driving a John Deere Gator Turf utility vehicle in the Roxana High School back parking lot in May 2012. He alleges Schmieg, also driving through the parking lot, turned around a parked car, crashed into the John Deere and then fled the scene.
Allen accuses Schmieg of negligence and asks for more than $50,000 in damages for medical bills, loss of income and court costs.
