A case involving a pedestrian accusing an East St. Louis police officer of hitting him with a patrol car while he was walking across the street has been reassigned to St. Clair County Circuit Judge Andrew Gleeson.

Gleeson scheduled a motion hearing regarding the defendants’ motion to dismiss on Oct. 15 at 9 a.m.

According to the complaint filed April 22, Raymond Wilbourn claims he was walking across North 25th Street in East St. Louis in April 2012 when Officer Lester Anderson allegedly hit him with his patrol car. Wilbourn blames Anderson for speeding when the collision occurred and accuses both the officer and the department of negligence.

Anderson is being sued individually and in his official capacity as a police officer for the East St. Louis Police Department.

Wilbourn seeks a judgment of more than $50,000.
