The principal of a design company claims it was not paid for work it performed for an Illinois and Missouri agency.

Murry Edwards and Contract Design and Development filed a lawsuit Aug. 5 in Madison County Circuit Court against Bi-State Development Agency of the Missouri Illinois Metropolitan District.

In his complaint, Edwards claims CDD was working as a subcontractor on Metro’s light rail system, known as the Cross County Extension.

During the course of CDD’s work, Bi-State asked that it perform additional job duties. CDD agreed to do so, but still has not been paid for the extra work it performed, according to the complaint.

“Since this extra work was requested by Bi-State directly and not by the general contractor, Bi-State was to pay CDD directly,” the suit states.

In their complaint, the plaintiffs seek a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.

Ronald A. Roth of Roth Law Offices in Granite City will be representing them.
