A woman claims she lost her right eyebrow following an attack at an Alton bar.

Christina Seward filed a lawsuit July 12 in Madison County Circuit Court against C.T.W.’s Lounge and Tierra Williams.

In her complaint, Seward alleges she was visiting C.T.W.’s Lounge as a customer on May 13, 2012, when Williams unexpectedly struck Seward in the face with a beer bottle, knocking her unconscious.

Because of the incident, Seward suffered permanent injuries to her head and face, including a missing right eyebrow, and has suffered great bodily pain, according to the complaint filed July 12 in Madison County Circuit Court. She has also lost her normal life and incurred medical costs, the suit states.

In her complaint, Seward blames C.T.W.’s for contributing to her injuries, saying it negligently allowed its patrons to use excessive force against her, allowed its patrons to strike her with a beer bottle, failed to notify the police of a disturbance, failed to call for emergency medical attention, failed to properly supervise patrons and failed to properly train employees.

She also names Williams as a defendant, saying she negligently consumed too much alcohol, assaulted Seward when she should have known that assault would cause serious bodily harm and failed to help Seward after the assault.

In her complaint, Seward is seeking a judgment of more than $150,000, plus costs. She also seeks an unspecified amount of punitive damages from Williams in order to deter her from acting in a similar way in the future.
