A St. Clair County man claims he lost his job due to his age.
Gary L. Klemme filed a lawsuit June 3 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Mitchell Tire.
In his complaint, Klemme alleges he was working as a general manager for Mitchell Tire at 420 South Illinois Street in Belleville from July 2003 until his termination on Feb. 8. At the time of his termination, Klemme insists he was adequately performing his duties.
“Plaintiff was within the protective class, but discharged on the basis of his age in violation of the federal Age Discrimination Employment Act,” the suit states.
Because of his job loss, Klemme claims he lost wages.
He seeks a judgment of more than $50,000.
