The Belleville law firm of Freeark, Harvey & Mendillo, P.C. has announced that Matthew Bigham has been hired as an associate attorney.
Bigham was born in Carbondale and was raised in Pinckneyville. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science with a minor in business from the University of Illinois in 2008.
He received his Juris Doctorate from Saint Louis University School of Law in 2011. Bigham was a Dean’s Select Scholar and a member of the Saint Louis University Law Journal. He received an Academic Excellence Award in Taxation. While in law school, Bigham worked for the Saint Louis University General Counsel’s Office and completed a judicial externship with the Honorable Philip M. Frazier in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Illinois.
He is a member of the Illinois Bar Association, American Bar Association and St. Clair County Bar Association. He is licensed in the State of Illinois, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Illinois and the United States Tax Court.
