The Record asked folks at and near the St. Clair County Courthouse last week what they are grateful for as the Thanksgiving holiday approaches.
David Smith, 24, Belleville:

Pleas Griffin, 66, East St. Louis:
"I'm thankful for being here. I'm blessed to have a job. I'm thankful for my family, that they are in decent health."
Charlie Kaemmerer, 23, Belleville:
"I'm thankful I got my family back. Other than that, I've been kicking it old school, and my life has been turning around. I'm thankful for good people, good music and life."
