Pedestrian hit in O'Fallon Wal-Mart parking lot sues

An O'Fallon woman is being sued after she allegedly hit a pedestrian while backing out of a parking space.

Arthur Corcoran filed a lawsuit Aug. 21 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Toronika Y. Jenkins.

Corcoran says he was walking to his car in the O'Fallon Wal-Mart parking lot in June when Jenkins allegedly backed her Jeep Commander out of its parking space and hit him. Corcoran claims he was knocked to the ground in the collision and hurt his wrists and hands in the fall.

Corcoran accuses Jenkins of negligence and asks for more than $50,000 in damages for medical bills, loss of income and court fees.

He is represented by attorney Matthew R. Chapman of Granite City.
