West Highway 50 accident causes injuries, suit says

Lanter

A Swansea woman claims she sustained injuries after a driver struck her vehicle.

Brandie Koller filed a lawsuit June 7 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against James Patterson.

Koller claims she was driving a 2008 Ford Fusion west on West Highway 50 near its intersection with Eagle Drive in O'Fallon on July 12, 2010, when Patterson, who was driving east on the same road, struck her vehicle.

In addition to her injuries, Koller lost income, suffered pain and discomfort, incurred medical costs and was physically limited due to the collision, according to the complaint.

Koller blames Patterson for negligently failing to keep his vehicle under proper control, for failing to stop or swerve to avoid a collision, for driving too fast and for driving in the wrong lane, the suit states.

In her complaint, Koller seeks a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.

Nathan C. Lanter of Nelson and Nelson in Belleville will be representing her.

St. Clair County Circuit Court case number: 12-L-309.
