A man claims his son and his son's wife have failed to repay him the more than $70,000 he lent to them.

Daryl R. Burns Sr. filed a lawsuit May 23 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Daryl Burns Jr. and Stacy Burns.

Daryl Burns Sr. claims he lent the defendants $74,503.74. The defendants orally agreed to repay the loan with interest, according to the complaint. However, Daryl Burns Sr. has yet to receive payments, the suit states.

In addition to the money he claims the defendants owe him, Daryl Burns Sr. seeks interest at the maximum rate allowed by law and other relief the court deems just.

Shane M. Moskop of Freeark, Harvey and Mendillo in Belleville will be representing him.

St. Clair County Circuit Court case number: 12-L-275.
