A St. Clair County man is accused of owing nearly $80,000 in credit card debt.
Cavalry Portfolio Services LLC filed a lawsuit April 30 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Wavey T. Lester II, also known as Lester Troy.
According to the complaint, Lester opened a credit account with Bank of America in April 2005. However, Lester allegedly defaulted on the account by not paying the balance of more than $45,000. Cavalry Portfolio says it bought the account from Bank of America, per Illinois Collection Agency Act, and is now entitled to recover additional interest on the balance.
Because he has allegedly failed to make payments on the account, Cavalry says Lester owes almost $80,000 plus court costs.
