A woman has filed suit against the allegedly intoxicated driver who she claims caused a collision.

Christina Chapman claims she was riding in a 2003 Dodge Neon Stephen Bobrowski was driving east on West Vandalia near its intersection with St. Louis Street in Edwardsville on April 10, 2010, when Jason Weber, who was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Malibu west on the same road, crossed the center lane and struck Bobrowski's vehicle.

Because of the collision, Chapman sustained head, back and knee injuries; suffered great pain and mental anguish; and suffered disability, according to the complaint filed March 30 in Madison County Circuit Court. In addition, she lost her normal life and incurred medical costs, the suit states.

Weber negligently failed to keep his automobile under proper control, failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to stop in time to avoid a collision, failed to give a proper signal before the collision, failed to reduce his speed to avoid the collision, drove without safe brakes and drove while intoxicated, the complaint says.

Chapman also names Bobrowski as a defendant, saying he negligently failed to keep his vehicle under proper control, failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to stop to avoid a collision, failed to give a proper signal, failed to reduce his speed to avoid a collision and drove without adequate brakes.

In her two-count complaint, Chapman is seeking a judgment of more than $100,000, plus costs.
