A man claims he experienced disability and disfigurement after a driver causing a multi-vehicle collision.

Brett A. Denap filed a lawsuit March 12 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Myron D. Floore.

In his complaint, Denap alleges he drove east on Route 15 in Belleville on May 5, 2011, when Floore, who was also driving east, struck a vehicle driven by Torrion T. Beverly. In turn, Beverly struck Denap's vehicle, according to the complaint.

In addition to his disability and disfigurement, Denap lost earnings, incurred medical costs and experienced a diminished earning capacity, the suit states.

Denap blames Floore for causing the collision, saying he negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to properly apply his brakes, failed to reduce his speed to avoid a collision and failed to stop his vehicle.

Denap seeks a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs and other relief the court deems just.

Gregory M. Tobin of Pratt and Tobin in East Alton will be representing him.

St. Clair County Circuit Court case number: 12-L-131.
