A St. Clair County man says he was rear-ended by the driver of a truck belonging to a Belleville auto parts store.

Fredrico Taylor filed a lawsuit Feb. 13 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Brad M. Mathews, Advance Auto Parts Inc., doing business as Advance Auto Parts-Store 6014.

According to the complaint, Taylor was driving a Dodge Charger south on West Boulevard in Belleville in February 2010. As he neared the intersection of Carlyle Avenue, Taylor says he was hit from behind by a Ford Ranger believed to be owned by the Advanced Auto Parts located on Carlyle Avenue. The truck was allegedly being driven by Mathews, an employee of the store.

Taylor accuses Mathews and Advance Auto Parts of negligence and seeks more than $250,000 in damages for medical costs, loss of income and court fees.

He is represented by attorney Thomas B. Cannady, of Belleville. They ask for a jury trial.
