A Belleville man says he was fired from his construction job after he was hurt while at work.
George Edwards filed a lawsuit Feb. 13 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Edwards-Kamadulski LLC.
Edwards says he was working for Edwards-Kamadulski in July 2011 when he injured his back on the job. The construction worker says he filed for workers' compensation to pay for his medical treatment. However, in December 2011, Edwards says he was fired.
Edwards accuses the East St. Louis general contractor of violating Illinois' Workers' Compensation Act and asks for more than $50,000 in damages plus court costs.
