A Madison County woman is suing the driver of a car that allegedly pulled out in front of her while driving in Granite City.

Traci Ambruso filed the lawsuit Feb. 8 in Madison County Circuit Court against John Bowen.

The alleged crash happened in May 2011. According to the complaint, Ambruso was driving south on Nameoki Road near the intersection of Edwards Street. She says Bowen, driving west on Edwards Street, failed to stop at the intersection.

Ambruso contends she had the right-of-way but say Bowen pulled out in front of her, causing the two vehicles to collide. She says she was seriously injured in the crash and has been under the care of a doctor because of injuries related to the collision.

Ambruso accuses Bowen of negligence for allegedly failing to take necessary steps to avoid the crash. She is asking for more than $50,000 in damages plus court costs.

Ambruso is represented by attorney Kenneth B. Beljanski of Fairview Heights.
