A Belleville construction business is being sued after a man allegedly slipped on some ice while walking through one of the company's lots.

Joseph Peacher filed a lawsuit Feb. 7 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Erlinger Construction Company Inc.

Peacher says he was walking through Erlinger's South Belt West lot in February 2010 when he slipped on an accumulation of ice or snow. Peacher claims he seriously hurt several parts of his body in the fall and has since required extensive medical care.

Peacher accuses Erlinger Construction of negligence for allegedly allowing an unsafe condition to exist on company property. Peacher asks for more than $50,000 in damages for medical bills, lost wages and court fees.

Attorneys John Smith and Todd A. Neilson of Granite City represent Peacher.
