A woman is suing another driver who allegedly caused a crash on an East St. Louis road in December.
Doris E. Graham against Frankie J. Martin Jan. 23 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.
The alleged crash happened Dec. 5, 2011 on Caseyville Avenue near the intersection with North Park Drive in East St. Louis. Graham says she was driving west on Caseyville and Martin was driving in the opposite direction. Graham says Martin was required to stop or yield at the intersection but failed to observe the traffic signs, causing a collision between the two vehicles.
Graham claims the collision caused her to be "tossed with force and violence within the vehicle." She says she received injuries that require ongoing medical care.
Graham accuses Martin of negligence for allegedly failing to take the necessary steps to avoid the crash. She is asking to be awarded more than $50,000 in damages.
