A Madison County woman says she was hurt in a rear-end crash while driving in Alton and is asking the other driver to pay for her medical treatment.
Lillian L. Simmons filed a lawsuit Dec. 16 in Madison County Circuit Court against Christopher J. Kiel.
According to the complaint, Simmons was driving her Nissan Altima south on Alby Street in December 2009. As she approached the intersection of Blair Avenue, Simmons says she was rear-ended by a Jeep Wrangler driven by Kiel.
Simmons says she received injuries in the crash that required ongoing medical care. Simmons says Kiel is liable for the cost of that care. She accuses the Kiel of negligence and is asking he pay more than $50,000 in damages for medical expenses and court fees.
