Shiloh accident is subject of new suit

A man claims he sustained multiple injuries and a concussion after a driver crossed the center line and struck his vehicle.

Milton Buckner filed a lawsuit Nov. 29 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Myeong Jae Lee.

In his complaint, Buckner claims he drove north on Hartman Lane near its intersection with Raven Oak Drive in Shiloh on Oct. 11 at about 5:54 p.m. when Lee, who drove north on the same road, collided with Buckner's vehicle.

In addition to his concussion, Buckner received neck, shoulder, low back, finger, right ankle, left knee cap, head and chest injuries and incurred medical costs, according to the complaint. He also experienced pain and suffering, lost money and experienced an impaired earning capacity, the suit states.

Buckner blames Lee for causing the collision, saying he negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, drove across the center line, failed to properly apply his brakes, drove too fast, drove on the wrong side of the road, failed to provide Buckner with at least one half of the road and drove without adequate brakes.

In his complaint, Buckner seeks a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.

John H. Hustava of Collinsville will be representing him.

St. Clair County Circuit Court case number: 11-L-655.
