Ainad Shriners sued over woman's slip on liquid

Bradley

An East St. Louis woman claims she sustained injuries after falling on spilled liquid at the Ainad Shriners in East St. Louis.

Dorothy White filed a lawsuit Nov. 9 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Ainad Shriners.

In her complaint, White alleges she was visiting the Ainad Shrine on Oct. 2, 2010, when she slipped and fell on a liquid inside the Shrine's main entryway.

In addition to her injuries, White claims she experienced pain, suffering and disability and incurred medical costs because of the incident.

White blames Ainad Shriners for causing her injuries, saying it negligently failed to reasonably inspect and maintain its entryway, failed to remove the liquid substance that had accumulated on the floor of the building and failed to provide a safe entrance and exit.
In her complaint, White seeks a judgment of more than $50,000.

Daniel L. Bradley and Darrell J. Flesner of DeFranco and Bradley in Swansea will be representing her.

St. Clair County Circuit Court case number: 11-L-631.
