A Bloomington man is accused of turning left in front of another driver, causing a crash in Alton.
Thomas M. Twichell filed a lawsuit Sept. 28 in Madison County Circuit Court against Thomas L. Collier Jr.
In the complaint, Twichell says he was driving east on Landmarks Boulevard in February 2010. As he approached the intersection of Henry Street, Twichell says Collier, driving west on Landmarks, turned left onto Henry Street.
Twitchell contends Collier made the turn directly in front of him, allegedly giving the driver no time to react. Twichell claims he was unable to avoid crashing into the tractor-trailer Collier was driving.
Twichell is suing for negligence and asks to paid more than $50,000 in damages for medical bills and court costs.
He is represented by attorney Lanny Darr of Alton.
