A woman has filed suit against the driver who she claims rear-ended her vehicle.

Dawn M. Ives claims she was driving north on Greenmount Road in Belleville on June 17, 2009, when defendant Andrea Evans, who was driving in the same direction, struck the rear of her vehicle.

Because of the collision, Ives incurred medical costs, lost wages, suffered pain and lost her normal life, according to the complaint filed April 28 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.

Evans negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, drove too fast, failed to notice other vehicles that were stopped in traffic and failed to yield to other traffic, the suit states.

In her complaint, Ives is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.

She will be represented by Jon E. Rosenstengel of Bonifield and Rosenstengel in Belleville.
