A St. Clair County man is asking a Belleville driver to pay more than $50,000 after allegedly running a red light and causing a crash in Shiloh.

Daniel M. Boatman filed a lawsuit against Jeremy J. Buesking April 27 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.

Boatman says he was stopped at a red light at the intersection of North Greenmount Road and Frank Scott Parkway in Shiloh in May 2009. Boatman alleges Buesking, driving on North Greenmount, failed to stop at the red light and crashed into Boatman's car.

Boatman is suing Buesking for negligence and asking for more than $50,000 in damages for medical expenses and court costs. He is represented by attorney Susan E. Brennan, of Belleville.
