A St. Clair County man is suing the driver of a car for allegedly driving in the middle of a Smithton road and crashing into him.
Stanley Rittmeyer filed a lawsuit Feb. 17 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Scott J. Randle and his mother, Sara L. Randle.
Rittmeyer says he was a passenger in a car his son was driving in June 2010. As they drove west on Schlueter-Germain Road in Smithton, Rittmeyer says they met Randle at the crest of a hill. Rittmeyer contends Randle was was driving in the middle of the road and crashed into his vehicle.
Rittmeyer accuses Randle of negligence. He argues Randle's mother is also negligent for allowing her son to drive recklessly.
Rittmeyer is asking for an unspecified amount of money in damages for medical expenses and court costs.
