A man claims he sustained neck and shoulder injuries after a driver rear-ended him.

Jeffrey Izard filed a lawsuit Feb. 7 in Madison County Circuit Court against Heather Reynolds.

Izard claims he drove on Hawthorne in Hartford on Feb. 10, 2009, when Reynolds struck his vehicle.

In addition to his injuries, Izard experienced pain, suffering and disability and incurred medical costs, according to the complaint. He also lost wages, the suit states.

Izard blames Reynolds for causing the collision, saying she negligently failed to reduce her speed, drove too fast and failed to keep a proper lookout.

In his complaint, Izard seeks a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs and other relief the court deems just.

Keith Short of Mallon Law Firm in Wood River will be representing him.

Madison County Circuit Court case number: 11-L-121.
