A Granite City dentist is accused of leaving a hole in a patient's mouth after removing a tooth.

John Large filed a lawsuit against Dr. Jennifer K. Brubaker and Nameoki Dental Care on Jan. 27 in Madison County Circuit Court

According to the complaint, Large was a patient of Dr. Brubaker in February 2009 and had a molar removed at the Nameoki Dental Care office. After the extraction, Large claims a hole was left in his mouth. He alleges the hole was not treated, nor was he told it needed any special attention.

Large says Dr. Brubaker was negligent in her treatment of him. He is asking for more than $50,000 in damages along with court fees.

Attorney Thomas O. Falb of Alton is representing Large.
